Shifu Yan Lei invites you to attend his live Zoom masterclass.  He will teach the 8 Treasures Form and show you how to use this form to balance your Yin and Yang, stabilise your energy and make your stamina grow. You will feel a noticeable difference when you go onto train in physical exercise such as running or Kung Fu. 

The focus will be on wellness and fitness through Longevity Qigong so that what you learn is suitable for health seekers as well as martial artists. If you’re already a personal trainer or a yoga teacher, you can use these teachings as another strand to help your clients gain total mind and body wellness.

If you already know the movements and Qigong form then these masterclasses will deepen your understanding and you will  learn how to pass these valuable teachings to other students. If you’re just beginning and you don’t want to teach, you can use this program to learn  and you don’t need to attend the last week where Shifu Yan Lei focuses solely on how to teach.

The Shaolin Temple is a temple of Zen therefore the classes are not theoretical. Theory doesn’t transform. You’ll be taught through body language so that you gain personal experience and muscle memory. This is not about reading a menu, it’s about tasting the food. 

If you’ve ever been to China, you’ll see elderly people in the park in the early morning practicing some of these movements. And if you go to the Shaolin Temple in China, you’ll see young disciples practicing the same movements. The elderly people do the movements slower and practice more Qigong where as the young disciples will be fast and do less Qigong. It’s about adapting these time-tested movements  so that they are suitable for all ages.

What you will learn:

  • Longevity Qigong ( 8 Treasues. Ba Duan Jin) the original Qigong from the Shaolin Temple of Zen

  • Fundamental Stretching
  • 5 Fundamental Stances and Kicks
  • Traditional punches and kicks to build up your foundation.
  • Fitness fused with Qigong
  • How to use Qigong to supercharge your workout
  • How to adapt the movements for yourself and your students
  • How to teach all of the above

What you need:

  • Commitment
  • A space the size of a yoga mat
  • Instant Health massage brush

When:

There are 3 sessions a week for 5 weeks. You only need to attend the 5th week if you want to teach. Each session last for 45- 60 minutes and is at 7pm UK time. Each session will be recorded and available for 28 days if you’re not able to attend but it’s best to attend the live class if possible. 

Week 1:

Monday 31st January. Wednesday 2nd February. Friday 4th February. 

Week 2:

Monday 7th February. Wednesday 9th February. Friday 11th February

Week 3:

Monday 14th February. Wednesday 16th February. Friday 18th February.

Week 4:

Monday 21st February. Wednesday 23rd February. Friday 25th February.

Week 5 (0ptional): 

Monday 28th February. Wednesday 1st March. Friday 4th March. 

If you’d like to teach, there will be a separate online exam which includes a fitness and stamina test as well as a Qigong.  If you don’t pass it the first time, there will be an opportunity to retake the exam. Once you’ve passed, you’ll receive a certificate and your details will be on Shifu’s website. The price for the exam is £119.00. It’s not included in this training program. More written details on this to come later.
