Understanding The True Nature Of The Mind

Shaolin Martial Arts challenges our mind as much as our body. Our training is always teaching us. When the training feels hard, it means it's working.

  •  It is our bad habits that cause us trouble, not reality

Whenever a negative emotion arises, a Shaolin Monk welcomes it as a gift, because it allows progress on the path. We tend to cling to our worries, circling them again and again in the mind like a marble. In doing this, we only add to the problem.

  • The peaceful heart is always here

A Shaolin Monk’s way to peace is through training. Training is meditation. Through daily practice we renew ourselves and reconnect with the peace that has always been within us.

  • Make Your Mind Your Ally

The mind is our greatest ally and our worst enemy. It depends on how we use it. The mind works best when we tell it what we want it to do, not what we don’t want it to do. Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. Take control of your life by understanding that you cannot control anything outside your own mind.

  • Believe in your unlimited potential.

Shaolin training toughens the mind and sharpens the body. It takes courage to reach your true potential. The first step to success is getting out of your own way. Identify your weaknesses and transform them into strengths.

You do not learn Shaolin Kung Fu and Qigong. They are what you are. Shaolin martial arts are a way to understand the true nature of our mind.
