Sanshou Fighting Workshop
Even if a student doesn’t want to become a fighter, it’s good for them to have their skills tested in the ring. This is why fighting is such a good test of our martial skill. It is not just about how well we are doing in our physical training but also how our mind is doing. Is it at calm or is it panicking? How do we control it? If we’re not in control then how can we control our opponent? It’s vitally important that we don’t allow ourselves to be thrown by our opponent both mentally and physically for this can cost us the fight. Fighting shows us in a very direct way how we deal with pressure. It shows us how quick our reflexes are and if we’ve been doing enough stamina training. In this workshop I will guide you through the essential punches, kicks, blocks and throws of Sanshou Fighting. The workshop will include running as well as pad, bag work and sparring.
What you will need: running shoes, gloves, pads, shin guards, a basic level of fitness.
